Dr. Yousef  Alhorr

Dr. Yousef Alhorr is the Founding Chairman of Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) where he launched the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS), which took him 6 years to raise it as the most comprehensive sustainability systems in the world.He has made significant contributions to the development of Qatari Standards of Construction (QCS 2010) by preparing the 7th chapter titled (Green Construction).  Dr. Alhorr has direct involvement in several research and development related to sustainability; In addition, he made numerous contributions to various patents that have been registered in different regions around the world concerned in green and energy-saving products.

Mr. Kishor Rajhansa

Kishor Rajhansa is working as a Director Carbon & Climate Change with Gulf Organisation for Research & Development, Doha, and is primarily responsible for designing and implementing the first and only voluntary carbon offsetting platform of MENA region “Global Carbon Trust". He is the member of expert panel responsible for climate mitigation standards of UNFCCC. Kishor is a climate change, energy and sustainability leader with a professional experience of 23 years at leadership positions in multi-national advisory, international regulatory and government organizations. Previously, he worked for 5 years for a lead agency of India-European Commission Energy Cooperation Programme as Energy Engineer, for 5 years with Ernst & Young, India as Manager at its Environment & Sustainability Services, and for 10 years for United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Germany as Team Leader and Project Manager. 
Rachid Rahim-3

Mr. Rachid Rahim

Mr. Rachid Rahim is working as Head of Aviation Environmental Protection at Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), Doha. He is primarily responsible for the drafting and implementation of aviation environmental regulations; Aviation Environmental protection oversight and Aviation Environmental strategy design. Rachid is an expert with a professional experience of more than 20 years at various positions dealing with aviation and environment at the international level. Previously, he worked at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as leader civil aviation consulting. Rachid holds a Master’s in Environmental engineering from DTU, Denmark and a Master’s in Environmental Policy and regulation from Roskilde University, Denmark

Mr. Simon Henry

Simon is Director of Carbon Market Development at the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA). He leads IETA’s work to advance the private sector’s engagement in Natural Climate Solutions and Reducing Emissions from Deforestation & Degradation (REDD+). IETA works to increase the role for Natural Climate Solutions in carbon pricing systems worldwide to scale up private finance and help reduce emissions from deforestation and land use change. He has also held the roles at IETA of Director of EU Policy and Director of ICROA.
Prior to joining IETA, Simon worked in energy and environmental consultancy. For five years he was a Senior Consultant at Pöyry Management Consulting. In this role, his work focused on providing market analysis and commercial advice to a variety of European energy market stakeholders including utilities, investors and regulators. This included providing market and regulatory due diligence for project financing and M&A transactions, modelling of European wholesale electricity and carbon prices, and market design advisory services. Prior to Pöyry he worked for AEA Technology (now Ricardo Energy & Environment) for both private and public sector clients on a range of sustainability topics.

Mr. Rajendra Shende

Rajendra Shende is IIT Bombay Alumnus, former Director of UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) in Paris and presently Chairman of TERRE Policy Centre, India . Mr. Shende strategized global implementation of the most successful global environmental treaty for ozone layer protection and climate change i.e. Montreal Protocol. He has won numerous global and national awards including two from USA for his work on Ozone layer protection and Climate Change. Mr. Shende was Coordinating Lead Author of IPCC-Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that shared the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 with Al Gore. He has been nominated by the Government of India to United Nations as Senior expert on Technology and Economic Assessment Panel. He is Advisor to the Universities, NGOs and Media Agencies in India, China and Europe on Technologies and Policies on Sustainable Development.
He is currently leading an innovative movement of Network of the Universities and schools 'Smart Campus Cloud Network' that promotes actions on Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs) and Climate Crisis.

Mr. Hussain Al-Hijji

Mr Hussain Al-Hijji is Vice President of R&D in Qatar Shell leading Qatar Shell Research & Technology Centre (QSRTC) in QSTP, Education City, Doha—A centre established in 2008 and dedicated to fuelling innovation into Qatar’s Energy Ecosystem. In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, to foster a diverse, knowledge-based economy, the centre leverages collaborations with the local innovation eco-system—universities, research institutions, entrepreneurs, etc.

Dr. Ammar Elhoweris

Dr. Elhoweris is a research fellow at the Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD), responsible for the development of innovative building materials with a focus on promoting sustainability best practices. After joining GORD in 2013, he has been involved in the identification and realisation of projects in line with Qatar vision 2030. His expertise lies within, but is not limited to, chemical engineering, process design and cement chemistry. In addition to his contribution towards the support, technical management and supervision of the applied research projects at GORD institute, his current role focuses on the upscale and commercialization of low carbon and sustainable alternative building materials. 

Eng. Zaki Ahmed Mohammed

Zaki Ahmed Mohammed is working as Head of GSAS MEP Group with Gulf Organization for Research & Development, Doha. Zaki is involved in Development and implementation of GSAS Design & Build, Construction Management and Operations Certification with specialization in Energy and Water. He is leading the Audit team for Energy audits, Conformance to Design Audits (CDA) and Audits for in-use buildings. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has 14+ years’ experience in Design, Construction and Project Management for various mega projects like airports, pharmaceutical labs/clean rooms, high-rise buildings etc. in India and GCC. He has notable energy industry experience in R&D, Engineering, Product Development and Management. At GORD, he is associated with GORD Academy as the Trainer for Energy Assessment & various Certification schemes as well as with Research department in development of Energy & Water assessment methodologies.

Prof. Soteris Kalogirou

Professor Soteris Kalogirou is the chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Sciences and Engineering of the Cyprus University of Technology, Limassol, Cyprus. He is Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and Founding Member of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, letters and Arts. He has a large number of publications as books, scientific journals and refereed conference proceedings. He is Editor-in-Chief of Renewable Energy and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Energy journals. He is the author of the books Artificial Intelligence in Energy and Renewable Energy Systems, published by Nova Sc., Solar Energy Engineering: Processes and Systems, and Thermal Solar Desalination: Methods and Systems, published by Academic Press.

Mr. Oliver Moritz

Mr. Oliver Moritz boasts over 15 years of experience managing construction projects through their complete lifecycles, from design through construction and into operation. He has been at the forefront of projects developing Qatar, projects leading up to the Asian Games 2006, as well as Sidra Medicine Hospital and the Hamad International Airport. At Naufar he supervises the implementation of all sustainability initiatives in order to achieve and maintain the GSAS Operations Certification and has led Naufar to achieve prestigious sustainability awards. He has a Masters in Construction & Project Management, is PMP certified and is a GSAS Operations CGP.

Mr. Syed Hassan Ahmed

Mr. Hassan is Environment & Sustainability with Atkins, member of SNC Lavalin Group. He manages environment and sustainability program for Atkins, Faithful & Gould and SNC Lavalin. He has over 10 years of environmental and sustainability experience of running environmental and sustainability programs in different organisations on mega Projects within Qatar and in the region. Academically he has Masters in Environment Engineering and is Certified green professional (GROD), Chartered Environmentalist by (UK) and Professional Engineer (Engineer Australia). Currently he is pursuing his PhD from Czech university of Life Sciences.
Jason Donnachie

Mr. Jason Donnachie MBE

Jason Donnachie is the General Manager of Aktor Como Intercity Facilities Management (ACIFM). ACIFM won the 20 Year FM Services Contract with RKH Qitarat, as part of the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram Operations & Maintenance Consortium in November 2017. Prior to arriving in Qatar in 2014, Jason was an Operations Director for Bilfinger Europa FM and a Business Development Director for Compass Group UK & Ireland. Jason retired from the British Army after 18 years commissioned service and was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen in 2007. Jason lives with his wife Catharine and 2 children; Scarlett (6) and Xanthé (5) in Doha. His interests include travelling, reading military history and sport.
Glen McHale

Mr. Glen McHale

Glen is a Pro Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Applied and Materials Physics at Northumbria University. His research focuses on smart materials and surfaces with an emphasis on energy efficient interactions and low friction surfaces. He has published over 200 journal papers, has a h-index of 45 and leads the UK Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council Centre for Doctoral Training in Renewable Energies Northeast Universities. Glen is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, a Fellow of the RSA, a Senior Member of the IEEE, a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College, and he was a panel member for the "Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials" unit of the last UK-wide national assessment of research (REF2014). 
George Tsatsaronis

Mr. George Tsatsaronis

George Tsatsaronis is the Bewag Professor of Energy Engineering and Environmental Protection at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany. He received his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (NTU Athens, Greece) and MBA, Ph. D, and Dr. Habilitatus Degree, all from the RWTH Aachen University, Germany. In the time period 1982-1994 he worked as a professor in the USA. His areas of interest include the design, development, analysis, and optimization of energy conversion systems. He contributed significantly to the fundamentals and terminology of exergy-based methods. He has published more than 500 papers, received several international honors and awards, and has served as Chairman or Co-chairman of 20 international conferences. 
Tatiana Morosuk

Prof. Tatiana Morosuk

Tatiana Morosuk is since 2013 the Professor at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany. She studied refrigeration engineering in the Odessa State Academy of Refrigeration, Ukraine, and received her Diploma in 1990. She received her Ph.D. in 1994, Dr Habilitatus Degree and Professorship in 2001, all in Ukraine. Her areas of interest include but not limited to development and applications of exergy-based methods for improvement and optimization of power, refrigeration/cryogenic systems and energy-intensive chemical plants. She contributed significantly to the development of advanced exergy-based methods. She is the author or co-author of 7 books and around 400 publications, and has 10 patents. 
Sabine Sakr

Ms. Sabine Sakr

Sabine Sakr has more than 13 years of experience in the United Nations system, working in different areas of work and duty stations. In January 2019 Sabine took up her position in UNEP- West Asia Office working on Environmental Governance in 12 Arab States, providing guidance to national counterparts on environmental legislative frameworks and policies. Sabine worked before in UNCCD In Germany, in Lebanon for the private sector and in the Netherlands. Sabine holds a Master of Agricultural Engineering from the Lebanese University in Beirut and a master’s in Environmental Economics from Rennes 1 in France. She is fluent in Arabic, French, English and Italian and has a basic knowledge of Russian.
Rick Stonier

Mr. Rick Stonier

Rick Stonier is one of four founding partners, and current Managing Director, of GrayWolf Sensing Solutions, established in 1998. Rick has over 35 years of experience managing Indoor Air Quality instrumentation manufacturing companies and has had a long-time involvement with the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), including actively working with the TC 1.2 Measurements and Instruments committee. Most recently he has been a contributor to the ASHRAE GPC-27 Guideline Committee's important new commercial IAQ and Green Building document; "Measurement Procedures for Gaseous Contaminants in Commercial Buildings" which has been approved for imminent ASHRAE publication.
Dennis Alexandersen

Mr. Dennis Alexandersen

Mr Alexandersen holds an interdisciplinary master degree in Environment, Technology & Social Science from Roskilde University in Denmark. Since 2011, he has been working for the German environmental solution provider BAUER Resources. Being responsible for International Business Development, Mr Alexandersen has contributed significantly to the acquisition of new projects across the Middle-East in the fields of wastewater treatment, remediation of contaminated sites and expansion into the solid waste management sector. Mr Alexandersen is also the focal point for carbon emission reduction activities and offsetting transactions associated with their produced water treatment plant in Oman. Mr Alexandersen has lived in the Middle-East since 2009. 
Mohamed Elnadi

Mr. Mohammed Elsayed

Engineer Mohammed has more than 15 years of engineering work experience out of which 10 years are with Aspire Zone Foundation, he currently works in the capacity of Section Head of HVAC for Aspire’s Facility Management Department. He has a vast experience in District Cooling Plants mainly in design, construction, operations and maintenance. His proficient background led him to achieve DC Plant sustainability projects to carry out design review, system balancing and automation to realize energy efficient systems. He completed various sustainability projects in Aspire Zone Foundation which resulted in considerable continuous savings in terms of Energy and Water. He now leads competent engineers to manage the HVAC systems’ operation and maintenance of 2022 FIFA World Cup Stadiums, Training Sites, Sports City, Hospitals, Clubs and Federations all over the State of Qatar. He is directly involved with the Supreme Committee and LOC for the various national and international events all over the State of Qatar.

Dr. Anna Paolini

Dr Anna Paolini is UNESCO Representative in the Arab States of the Gulf and Yemen and Director UNESCO Doha Office since September 2013.
She was UNESCO Representative and Head of Office in Uzbekistan from 2007 to 2009 and later she covered the same position in Jordan. In 1992, she joined UNESCO as specialist in the field of culture at the Regional Office in Amman. In 1997, she moved to UNESCO HQ covering several positions within the Culture Sector including for being responsible of movable heritage activities and on heritage in conflict response. Prior to that, she held a research associate role at the Institute of Architecture of Venice, worked in restoration in Italy and carried out researches in the field of urban rehabilitation in several Arab and African countries. She holds a Master’s degrees in Architecture and a master degree in Urban and Regional Planning for Developing Countries, a post-graduate degree on Development Cooperation, as well as a Ph.D in Urban and Territorial Engineering.
Mrs. Paolini is a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the Italian Association of Professional Architects and author of several papers on different cultural heritage subjects.
George Antonas

Mr. George Antonas

George Antonas is the Founder and Chairman of CompostableME, a company which offers complete solutions for environmental sustainability on single use plastic. He is an Olericulturist with over 30 years experience in fresh produce production, marketing and packaging. He has been involved in the world first development of a 100% compostable vegetable heat shrink wrap which is widely used in the fruit and vegetable industry to increase shelf life and minimize food waste. An alumni of the University of Australia, he is a member of the South Australia Chamber of Fruit and Vegetables Board and the South Australian Produce Credit Board.

Dr. Hisham M. Sabir

Dr Sabir holds a PhD in Thermodynamics, an MSc in Renewable Energy Technology and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. He previously worked as an academic in the UK, and is now the Director, Technical of QNRF, where he leads the team of scientists who oversee the scientific function of the organisation. In addition, Dr Sabir contributes to the strategic functions of QNRF such as setting priorities, designing new programs and engaging stakeholders. 

Mr. Tooraj Shadnia

Tooraj Shadnia is a trained Civil Engineer, with a 30 years’ experience in the construction sector. He started his professional career, as a trainee Engineer and over the years worked his way up the career ladder to a senior level. After completing his undergraduate studies, he increased his Engineering knowledge by enrolling on a post graduate program in Structural Engineering and Foundation design. Over the past three decade, Tooraj has gained a great deal valuable experience as he was involved managing very many projects of differing sizes and complexities. He had a pivotal role in the upgrade of London Underground improvement program ranging from track renewals to stations modernization during the PPP program of works.

Eng. Mohammed Khalid Al-Sharshani

Eng. Mohammed Khalid Al-Sharshani, acting head of conservation & technology. started my career as a project engineer (Renewable energy). Academic Native lecturer and active official representative (social media). Leading technical team & DSM for projects in line with Qatar's Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) 2022. Member & speaker: GORD - GSAS (2017), QGBC (2018), EU-GCC Clean Energy Tech Network, and world green energy forum 2018. MC for Kahramaa's events. holding a bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (UK-2014). Strongly interested in Studying & developing energy diversification Strategies through the impact of awareness, conservation laws & regulations in Qatar.

Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Muftah

Mr. Abdulrahman is part of the Sustainability and Environment team of Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. This team is responsible for managing all sustainability and environmental works to deliver the most sustainable FIFA World Cup 2022.
The work was and still is based on the green building certifications for the stadiums. However, it is now shifting to include working on the host country operation/services to apply sustainability on a larger event wide base.
Previously he was working with Qatar Foundation as a commissioning engineer with a special focus on sustainability and green building certifications.
Mr. Abdulrahman holds a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United Kingdom.

Dr. Udeogu Onwusogh

Dr. Udeogu Onwusogh manages the water R&D portfolio at the Qatar Shell Research and Technology Centre (QSRTC), located in Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), Doha, Qatar. He has over 15 years experience in water, wastewater treatment and management with expert knowledge of various technologies and processes deployed in the oil and gas industry. Udeogu’s previous role was - Water Treatment and Integration engineer at Shell Projects & Technology in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In his 12 years with Shell, Udeogu has worked on various projects for refineries, chemical, LNG, gas and GTL plants. Udeogu holds Masters and PhD degrees in Environmental Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, UK.
Clemens Plochel

Mr. Clemens Ploechl

Clemens Ploechl is managing partner at Energy Changes Projektentwicklung Gmbh in Vienna, Austria. He holds master´s degrees in business administration and applied ecology. Clemens has 19 years of professional experience in all aspects of inter-/national climate change and energy policy and finance. Currently is advising multilateral institutions and national governments around the globe on the implementation and financing of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) and regional carbon markets. In Austria he is (co-) managing the Sustainable Energy Financing Platform Austria (SEFIPA) which aims to develop innovative financial instruments for incentivizing additional investments in sustainable energy.
